Woldgate secondary school consultation response

New proposed changes to Woldgate's admissions policy from 2024/2025 would mean that our primary school will become unfairly deprioritised in favour of giving places to pupils who are part of the Wolds Learning Partnership Multi-Trust Academy (which Woldgate school is a part of). If these changes were to go ahead, this could severely affect Sutton upon Derwent CE Primary School, and, along with it, the sustainability and desirability of the village of Sutton upon Derwent. We therefore urge all residents to have their say on this matter and respond to the consultation by 22nd January. Full-fibre (Ultrafast/FTTP) broadband for areas not already connected - Factco, who have installed the ultrafast broadband (FTTP) infrastructure into a number of local villages (most recently in Elvington), is keen to make provide full-fibre infrastructure to properties in Sutton that don't already have it (namely, those not on Main Street). If we can register enough demand at their portal (https://factco.co.uk/projects/sutton-upon-derwent/ ), they will get cracking. Packages start from £24.99 p/m for up to 100Mbps, fixed for three years. They will also contribute to our village: £250 for the first 50 sign-ups going live, and a further £250 if we get to 100 sign-ups, besides an offer to give the village hall a 1,000 Mbps package free of charge for life.
